Cornish Tin Coast Series

This series was created during a winter residency at Brison Veors, inspired by rich and rugged coastline that is imbued with Cornish mining history. The Tin Coast, a World Heritage Site Status since 2006, boasts impressive abandoned structures and derelict engine houses along its jagged edge. I gathered clay from the land surrounding the mines and used the natural earth pigments and mixed media [ tin wire and metal tacks] in order to give a sense of place, time and the history of the mines.
